The Department of Management at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), University of Bengkulu, held a workshop on Curriculum Development for the “Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka” (MBKM) program on Thursday, November 14, 2024. The event took place at the MM and Doctoral Management Building, FEB, University of Bengkulu. This workshop aimed to enhance faculty understanding and skills in developing a curriculum aligned with the MBKM concept initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia, which allows students the flexibility to pursue learning paths that align with their interests and labor market needs.


Additionally, the workshop served as a benchmarking session for membership and international accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). By improving curriculum quality and engaging in international accreditation, the Management Study Program at FEB, University of Bengkulu, aims to enhance its global competitiveness and produce graduates with superior competencies. This benchmarking activity was conducted with reference to international standards, which are hoped to be adopted into the education system at the University of Bengkulu.


Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Naeem from the University of Management and Technology (UMT) in Pakistan was the main speaker at the workshop. He shared insights and experiences in implementing a project-based learning curriculum and strengthening partnerships with industry. Dr. Hafiz emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities and industries to equip students with relevant skills for the workforce. His presence as a speaker is expected to inspire and guide the Management Study Program at FEB, University of Bengkulu, towards further progress and quality in implementing the MBKM curriculum and preparing for international accreditation.
