Wednesday, December 4, 2024, was an inspiring day for 35 undergraduate Management students who had the opportunity to participate in a visit tot PT Pembangkit Listrik Bengkulu. This activity was designed to provide practical insights into the professional world while enriching students’ understanding of how management concepts are applied in the energy industry.

Guided by Rhienta Aprisella, S.M., M.M., as the supervising lecturer, the students were immersed in various essential aspects of the company’s operations. The KKL program began with an *introduction to the company*, where students learned about the history, vision, mission, and the significant role of PT Pembangkit Listrik Bengkulu in meeting Indonesia’s energy demands.

The session continued with a presentation from the HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) team, who provided a detailed overview of workplace safety in the power plant sector. This knowledge is vital, as safety and health protocols are fundamental in ensuring the continuity of operations in a high-technology environment.

Additionally, students gained valuable insights into Talent Management, delivered by the HR team from Power China, an operational partner of the Bengkulu Power Plant. During this session, students were introduced to strategies for developing human resources, from recruitment to training and talent management, to support the company’s success

As the highlight of the event, the activity concluded with a site visit to the operational areas of the power plant. Students observed firsthand how electricity generation processes take place, from fuel management to energy distribution. This experience provided them with a deeper understanding of the connection between the theories studied in the classroom and real-world practices.

This program not only enriched the students’ knowledge but also inspired them to continue learning and preparing for the challenges of the professional world. Thank you to PT Pembangkit Listrik Bengkulu for the warm welcome and the invaluable opportunity! May this collaboration continue to support education and empower the younger generation of Indonesia.
